As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the official Guinness World Records challenge titled "Longest Paper Airplane Formation," themed "Cherishing Time Together—Flying Our Dreams," was successfully certified at the Primary School Affiliated to Tsinghua University in Beijing. Marco, Head of Guinness World Records Greater China, along with Marketing Director Pan Zhi, Official Certification Officer Ren Xuejing, Secretary-General Zhu Xisheng from the China Children and Teenagers' Fund, Yang Xuebao, representative of the Madajie food brand, representatives from the Women's Federation of Yuanlai County in Hebei Province, representatives and teachers/students from Tsinghua Affiliated Primary School, and nearly 300 guests from media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency and People's Daily Online—all came together to attend and witness the certification event for Madajie Foods' 2018 public welfare initiative: "Yearning Together—Flying Our Dreams," held jointly with the China Children and Teenagers' Fund to challenge the Guinness World Record title for "Longest Paper Airplane Formation."

"This event was jointly launched by Madajie Foods and the China Children and Teenagers' Fund. From nearly 1,000 schools across the country, 68,966 paper airplanes—each bearing a child’s dream—were collected. Among them, 14,285 carefully selected planes were assembled into the longest-ever paper airplane formation, stretching an impressive 3,029.02 meters, to challenge the Guinness World Records title. This remarkable feat serves as a heartfelt tribute to the upcoming 69th National Day." Yang Xuebao, brand representative of Madajie Foods, delivered the opening speech at the event.

The "Year-Long Moments of Love—Flying High with Dreams" public welfare activity saw the full participation of 36,557 students from all primary schools and kindergartens across Laiyuan County, achieving remarkable social impact! Zhang Jing, Chairwoman of the Laiyuan County Women's Federation, highly praised the initiative: "As soon as we received the invitation, we immediately collaborated with the County Education Bureau to issue a 'Notice,' encouraging everyone to actively join this meaningful event. For these children living in the mountains, this is truly extraordinary—not just about stepping away from their phones and reconnecting with traditional games, but also about helping them nurture and realize their dreams."

“I’ve just witnessed the ‘Longest Line of Paper Airplanes,’ and I’m truly impressed—over 60,000 planes, so many indeed! But what’s even more remarkable is that these airplanes were all crafted by students from schools and kindergartens, working together to create something truly special. The children shared their dreams by writing them directly onto each plane—a long line of aspirations. This is absolutely amazing—congratulations!” Marco, Head of Guinness World Records Greater China, highly praised and commended the charitable initiative jointly launched by Madajie Foods and the China Children and Teenagers' Fund.

“The Chinese Children and Teenagers' Fund Secretary-General Zhu Xisheng encouraged students to combine the simple art of origami with the patriotic theme of nurturing ambitious dreams from an early age, inspiring them to work together toward the beautiful Chinese Dream. Together, they folded paper airplanes and wrote down their aspirations before setting them free into the sky. Today, our challenging activity was a resounding success—proof once again that when we unite as one, pooling our strength and determination, even a humble, ordinary paper airplane can accomplish extraordinary things.”

At the challenge site, 14,285 paper airplanes were connected end to end, forming vibrant, multicolored ribbons of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and more—spreading across the entire basketball court floor. These paper planes came in a dazzling array of shapes: some boasted wide wings and sharp, pointed noses; others featured sleek, streamlined bodies; while still others resembled fighter jets, complete with fully detailed wings and tails that looked almost lifelike.

At the end of the event, attendees and children jointly launched paper airplanes into the sky. As these delicate crafts danced gracefully in mid-air, they traced vibrant rainbow arcs, bridging the students’ reality with their dreams. Countless small aspirations converged into one grand vision—the "Chinese Dream"—symbolizing the children’s deep yearning for both lofty ideals and a brighter, more fulfilling future. Through their participation in this meaningful public welfare activity, the children not only nurtured their sense of patriotism but also strengthened their connection to their homeland.

Behind the birth of a new Guinness World Record,

And what kind of "wonderful" story does it have?

The Madajie brand, deeply saddened by the growing trend of many elementary school students becoming engrossed in mobile phones and other electronic games—joining the ranks of the "head-down tribe"—is determined to do whatever it can to help change this troubling situation, even if its efforts can only create a small ripple in society. On August 8, 2017, Madajie partnered with the China Children and Teenagers' Fund to jointly launch the公益 project "Return to Tradition: Cherishing Every Year," calling on all sectors of society—as well as schools and parents—to pay closer attention to children's healthy, intellectually stimulating, and enjoyable forms of entertainment.

On the day of the press conference, dozens of journalists from Beijing Morning Post, Sina, Sohu, Beijing TV, and other media outlets provided live coverage. Meanwhile, more than 50 major media organizations—including Xinhua Net and Food Safety News—reprinted the story, and the public welfare initiative received strong support and enthusiastic participation from hundreds of primary schools and kindergartens across China, including those in Beijing, Hebei, Sichuan, and other regions.

Meanwhile, the accompanying "Year-Long Memories: Love Together" campaign—a call for submissions of traditional craft and game creations—has mobilized women's federations across the country, collaborating with schools nationwide and nearly 100,000 sales outlets of Madajie Food products, among other channels. Through these efforts, "Year-Long Memories" products, along with millions of origami sheets and countless packs of modeling clay—and countless other interactive game materials—are being gifted to students and consumers alike. The submitted artworks showcase a remarkable diversity, ranging from traditional cultural themes like Peking Opera masks and the Chinese zodiac to more contemporary topics such as the 2020 Beijing Winter Olympics. Beyond the creations made exclusively with the provided origami paper and colored clay, many participants have also crafted pieces using materials sourced independently from home, such as ceramics and shadow puppets. What we’ve delivered is merely a simple set of materials, yet the journey of creation itself—the hands-on experience, the joy of collaboration—has brought children invaluable moments of family bonding, friendship, and meaningful learning intertwined with fun.

On the eve of this year's Children's Day, the "Liu Nian Shi Guang" (Year-Long Moments) charity project has been upgraded once again. We've teamed up with the China Children and Teenagers' Fund to launch the "Liu Nian Shi Guang: Love Together" dream-flying公益 project, which has also received strong support from Guinness World Records.

The upgraded "Year-Long Memories: Love Together—Flying Our Dreams" challenge, aiming to break the Guinness World Record for "Longest Paper Airplane Formation," kicked off in June 2018 and took over 120 days to gather a remarkable collection of 68,966 paper airplanes, each bearing children’s dreams. These planes were collected from nearly 1,000 schools across China, including institutions in Guangxi, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Hebei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Henan, Shandong, Chongqing, Liaoning, Beijing, Jiangsu, and Anhui provinces. From this impressive batch, we carefully selected 14,285 paper airplanes to create the longest-ever formation, measuring an incredible 3,029.02 meters—and now we’re ready to take on the ultimate challenge for the Guinness World Record!

Each paper airplane carries a tiny dream—tens of thousands of these small dreams come together to form one grand vision, embodying the essence of the "Chinese Dream." The successful challenge for the Guinness World Record title of "Longest Paper Airplane Formation" is the greatest recognition of the "Cherishing Time Together—Flying Our Dreams" charitable initiative, and it’s also a testament to Madajie Foods!

Madajie Food has been crafting its beloved candies since 1985, when it first opened its confectionery workshop in Dingxing, Hebei Province. In 1991, the company relocated to Beijing and has remained steadfast in staying true to its original vision ever since—meticulously handcrafting cultural candies with unwavering dedication. With the strong support from all sectors of society, Madajie Food has persevered through decades of hard work and growth, now emerging as one of China’s leading representatives of traditional ethnic candy brands. While the company remains committed to enriching consumers' lives with delightful, sweet moments, it has also consistently upheld its social responsibility by actively contributing to meaningful community initiatives. Over the years, Madajie Food has enthusiastically participated in charitable campaigns such as Tencent Charity’s “99 Giving Day,” the “Walk for Love” event, and projects like “Love Bags” and “Love Wardrobes.” Additionally, the company has generously supported initiatives benefiting elderly individuals who have lost their only child, providing essential food supplies and other forms of care to nearly a million留守儿童 (left-behind children) in impoverished regions—including areas like the Greater Liangshan Mountains in Sichuan, Huining County in Gansu, and Hotan in Xinjiang—bringing warmth and much-needed comfort to these young hearts.

In the future, Madajie Food will continue to uphold the values of "sincerity, innovation, efficiency, responsibility, and heritage," using meticulous craftsmanship to carry forward our outstanding traditional culture—and as always, we’ll fulfill our social responsibilities with heartfelt actions.

Look to the place where Guinness World Records has officially recognized its achievement—the Centennial Primary School, established in 1915. A century of cycles, a century of glory. To host a Guinness World Records certification ceremony at this time-honored school, steeped in 103 years of cultural heritage, could it also signal the birth of an internationally renowned centennial brand—Madajie Foods!
